Piper Companies is seeking a Microbiologist to support a leading biopharma manufacturer in the RTP area. The role focuses on environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, and cleanroom operations within a GMP-regulated environment.

This contract-to-hire position suits recent life sciences grads and experienced lab professionals alike. Responsibilities include environmental sampling, routine microbiology testing, data interpretation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field.
• Understanding of analytical chemistry concepts and standard curve calculations.
• Experience from coursework, internships, or lab roles in microbiology or biotech.
• Comfort with cleanroom gowning and ISO 5/ISO 7 environments.
• Strong writing and data analysis skills in regulated settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental monitoring: viable air, surface, and personnel sampling in controlled environments.
• Conduct microbiology testing and document results per GMP requirements.
• Evaluate monitoring data, identify trends, and assist with investigations.
• Operate and maintain sampling equipment and lab instruments used for contamination control.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of lab materials compliant with safety regs.
