Job summary

United Therapeutics in Durham, NC is seeking a Mechanic II, Maintenance to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on GMP manufacturing equipment and support systems within a cGMP facility. This role requires on-site work at our Durham, NC location.

You will monitor and maintain base utilities, clean utilities, and life safety systems as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team. You will document work in CMMS, follow SOPs, and participate in an on-call rotation to ensure

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or GED required.
4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in pharma/biotech.
Active driver license in good standing.
Intermediate knowledge of cGMP and ISO requirements.
Ability to troubleshoot systems and perform repairs with limited supervision.
Ability to follow SOPs and work independently.
Ability to maintain records and reports in CMMS.
Comfort working with PPE in cleanroom environments.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with equipment and building systems.
Willingness to learn aseptic technique and cleanroom practices.

Responsibilities

Ensure production and facility systems operate efficiently by following established processes.
Complete preventive and corrective maintenance and document work in CMMS.
Troubleshoot equipment and perform effective repairs with limited supervision.
Monitor boiler operations and water treatment responsibilities as assigned.
Escalate complex tasks and participate in safety-focused problem-solving.
Adhere to SOPs and participate in required training.
Maintain compliance with cGMP requirements for facilities and equipment.
Ensure vendors and contractors follow safety and regulatory procedures.
Assist with special projects, including construction and renovations.
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
