Job summary

Actalent is seeking a GMP Scientist I / GMP Operations Technician I in Columbus, OH. This hands‑on role focuses on cell‑based manufacturing in a GMP clinical environment, performing production tasks, documenting activities, and maintaining facility equipment in a clean room setting.

You will work under SOPs and batch records to ensure compliant, timely, and cost‑effective production of biological products while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related discipline preferred.
• Experience in aseptic processing or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Experience in drug manufacturing or FDA‑regulated production settings is a plus.
• 23 years of experience in the scientific industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support GMP operations and production in a clinical manufacturing facility focused on cell‑based manufacturing.
• Execute production processes per batch records and SOPs.
• Provide hands‑on GMP and viral vector core production support.
• Manage materials and consumables with proper documentation and traceability.
• Monitor GMP resources inventory to ensure material availability.
• Assist in documentation preparation for upcoming production steps.
• Collaborate with GMP management to identify improvements and implement process enhancements.
• Operate facility equipment per SOPs and perform calibration/validation tasks.
• Review and remediate process documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to change control documentation and impact assessments.
