Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a skilled welder in a heavy manufacturing environment in South Boston, VA. You will weld components according to drawings, verify quality, and coordinate with teams to meet schedules.

The role requires ability to read blueprints, operate welding equipment, and participate in lean manufacturing practices. Second shift options may be available and overtime could be required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Experience with GMAW welding and welding quality checks.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge including 4Q/JIDOKA/6S is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using GMAW on cooler, panels, seam and base welds as required.
• Read engineering drawings and ensure product quality meets specs and delivery goals.
• Operate cranes and forklifts to handle materials and finished parts.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and documentation per procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.
