Job summary

Target is seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader in Massachusetts. The role leads hourly team members, drives guest experience, and ensures accurate inventory and merchandising. You will plan daily workloads, coach your team, and collaborate with leadership to meet store goals.

You'll guide operations, support fulfillment, and maintain a guest-ready store with a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork. Prior retail leadership and a passion for service are ideal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; age 18+.
• Retail experience preferred; ability to lead and coach a team.
• Proven ability to manage workloads, communicate effectively, and drive guest satisfaction.
• Demonstrates accountability, adaptability, and strong organizational skills.
• Comfort with using multiple communication devices and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver guest experience commitments and maintain a guest-first environment.
• Ensure team understands and delivers Target's guest experience standards.
• Observe, provide feedback, and coach hourly team members.
• Review area metrics and identify opportunities to improve GM processes.
• Lead daily/weekly workload to meet department and store goals.
• Educate team on operational procedures affecting inventory and profitability.
• Assist in identifying and closing skill gaps through development and coaching.
• Direct daily tasks and align with weekly/monthly priorities.
• Support fulfillment tasks and ensure accurate execution where applicable.
• Maintain stock, pricing, signing, and overall store readiness for guests.
