Job summary

Target is hiring for a General Merchandise role in California. The position offers a starting hourly pay range of $24.75–$26.75 and a full range up to $42.05 per hour. The role involves leading hourly team members, delivering a top guest experience, stocking and merchandising, and driving store sales.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture on your team.
• Retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies.
• Leading a team by planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals, with alignment from your direct leader.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience.
• Ensure every team member is trained and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments.
• Observe and provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize great guest experiences.
• Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
• Lead daily/weekly workload to achieve department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including receiving, merchandising, signing, setting and updating displays.
• Educate team on operational procedures like stocking, pricing, and inventory impacts on store profitability.
• Assign daily tasks to team members to align with business priorities.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment while maintaining compliance.
