Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking a General Manager – Substation & BESS in Neenah, WI. Lead regional Substation and BESS operations, drive safety, profitability, and client satisfaction while shaping strategic direction with senior leadership.

You will build high-performing teams, mentor leaders, and expand regional growth through strong customer relationships and effective preconstruction efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 10+ years of related experience
• Proven leadership managing substation, utility, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or EPC construction operations
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, backlog and profitability management

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee regional Substation and BESS operations, ensuring alignment with objectives.
• Lead strategic initiatives with Regional VP and senior leadership.
• Develop and maintain relationships with utility and energy customers.
• Lead regional preconstruction efforts and bid pursuits for substation/BESS.
• Monitor safety culture and ensure compliance with policies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
