Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. seeks a General Manager – Substation & BESS to lead regional Substation and battery energy storage system projects, drive safety, and ensure profitable outcomes. Travel across the region will be required as part of overseeing multiple sites and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field and 10+ years of related experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing complex regional operations and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of substation construction, battery energy storage systems (BESS), project delivery methodologies, resource planning, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Direct regional Substation and BESS operations to align with company objectives.
• Lead preconstruction efforts, RFP pursuits, and coordinating with estimating and engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain relationships with utility and energy customers to grow regional market presence.
• Manage budgets, forecast resources, and ensure profitable project execution.
• Coach and develop regional leaders, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Represent Michels Power at customer meetings and industry events.
