Job summary

Target in California is hiring for a General Merchandise Expert. This role focuses on creating a welcoming guest experience, helping guests find items, and ensuring product is easy to shop. You will support daily operations, restock, price, and maintain backroom organization in a fast-paced store environment.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and strong communication to meet guest needs and store goals. Training is provided, with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Work both independently and with a team
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
• Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments.
• Greet guests at 10ft and at 4ft to start a warm, helpful interaction
• Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while staying positive
• Receive products, restock shelves, organize the backroom, price items, and post signs
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures
• Follow Target policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe workplace
