McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a General Manager Designate I in Temple, TX to lead multiple departments and prepare to assume a full General Manager role.

The position emphasizes strategic leadership, project management, and ensuring safe, compliant operations within the facility. You will shadow senior leaders, drive key initiatives, and develop teammates while positioning the operation for growth and superior customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of progressive distribution center and transportation leadership experience.
• 3+ years’ experience as the top/senior leader with overall responsibility of a warehouse, storage, or transportation operation.
• Knowledge of the industry, customer needs and ability to guide the business direction to improve financial results.
• Expertise in legal and governmental regulations required to do business in this industry.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Take leadership of multiple departments and lead various projects within the facility.
• Shadow senior leaders and manage special projects and the facility when required.
• Develop and execute business development strategies to drive KPIs.
• Ensure optimum operating performance is consistently achieved.
• Create annual operating plans, set performance targets, and pursue strategies for success.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers within the division and with corporate staff.
• Inspire staff to perform at high levels and promote open communication and safety.
• Develop teammates and plan succession; promote collaboration and teamwork.
• Provide leadership and empower direct reports; foster a culture of integrity and McLane values.
