Job summary

Kansas City Monarchs are seeking a General Manager (GM), Business Operations, to oversee the team’s business operations at Legends Field in Kansas City, KS. The GM will work with front office and ownership to keep the organization competitive, profitable, and community-focused.

Responsibilities include budgeting, cross-department leadership, and developing strategic goals with ownership. A strong background in sports management and leadership is required, with a passion for baseball and team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sports management, or related field.
• 5–7 years in sports management with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience in professional or minor league baseball preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the team’s business and administrative functions.
• Coordinate front office and support teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Develop and manage the team’s budget, including revenue, expenses, and cost control.
• Set and track financial targets with ownership to meet organizational goals.
• Oversee box office, marketing, group sales, community relations and corporate sales.
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate front office staff across departments.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment to maximize performance.
• Build strong relationships with local businesses, sponsors, media and fans.
• Support charitable endeavors and community engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate on long-term strategic goals for stadium improvements and fan engagement.
