Job summary
BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a Scientist 2 to lead glycan-focused analytical method development and transfer within the Analytical Sciences team in Novato, CA.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Process Development, Formulation Development, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Research to advance DS/DP characterization and regulatory readiness. The role requires hands-on LC-MS, HILIC, CE/icIEF, RP, SEC, IEX expertise, with strong communication skills and adaptability
Qualifications
- Glycan characterization and analysis expertise with method development.
- Experience with LC-MS, CE, cIEF/icIEF, HILIC-FLD/MS.
- Knowledge of DS/DP formulation development and regulatory readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead analytical method development and transfer for DS/DP across clinical and commercial programs.
- Support IND/BLAs by writing analytical sections and responding to agency questions.
- Develop and optimize chromatography, spectroscopy, and MS-based methods for glycan analysis.
- Prepare, review, and approve analytical protocols and reports.
- Document experiments and results for audits and inspections.
- Maintain lab and instrument readiness; support general maintenance.
- Mentor junior scientists and research staff.
