Job summary

Sheboygan Paper Box Company in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a dependable Gluer Inspector / Packer for the Finishing Department. You will feed materials, inspect quality, and pack cartons while rotating through feeding, inspecting, case making, and palletizing duties.

This role offers a starting wage of $21/hr with a $1.50/hr shift premium for 3rd shift, and opportunities to grow into Operator roles through training and hands-on experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a desire to learn
  • Mechanical aptitude or a genuine interest in learning how machinery operates and is maintained strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to read, follow written and verbal instructions, and perform basic math
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Comfortable rotating between multiple responsibilities throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in growing within the Finishing Department and advancing into machine operation roles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Feed materials and pack finished product on folder/gluer and window machines.
  • Rotate hourly between feeding, inspecting, case making, and palletizing duties.
  • Inspect cartons for defects and ensure only quality product moves forward.
  • Stop and start machinery as needed and assist with clearing jams safely.
  • Read and follow job tickets to understand job requirements and specifications.
  • Assist with carton repairs, hand stripping, and flat packing when required.
  • Pack finished product accurately at the delivery end of machines.
  • Complete required paperwork and enter job activity into the PDE system.
  • Perform basic material handling, including relocating loads within the department.
  • Guillotine liners and dividers for orders as needed.
  • Replace recycle bins and assist with housekeeping duties such as cleaning glue pots, machinery, and work areas.
  • Support training of new employees when needed.
  • Follow safety, quality, and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs.

Job description

Sheboygan Paper Box Company is looking for a dependable Gluer Inspector / Packer to join our Finishing Department in Sheboygan, WI. In this role, you'll support our folder/gluer and window machine operations by feeding materials, inspecting product quality, and packing finished cartons. This position is the starting point for employees who are motivated to learn our equipment, build their skills, and grow into Assistant Operator, Operator, and Lead Operator roles through ongoing training and hands‑on experience.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, has a mechanical mindset, likes learning how equipment operates, is comfortable rotating between different responsibilities throughout the shift, and takes pride in producing high‑quality packaging as part of a team.

Shift: 3rd (Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm-6:00am)

Compensation: $21/hr (plus $1.50/hr shift premium for 3rd shift)

Key Responsibilities

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and use hands for handling materials.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for quality inspection purposes.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and loud noise levels.
  • Proper PPE is required.
