Job summary

Global Kids in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Site Director to oversee youth development programming at High School for Global Citizenship. You will manage program design, implementation, and coordination with GK outcomes, COMPASS High, and 21st CCLC models, including field trips and family events.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of leadership experience in school-based or youth programs, with strong collaboration, antiracist pedagogy, and capacity to manage staff and budgets.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of professional experience are required.
  • Experience managing government-funded programs such as DYCD, COMPASS High, and 21st CCLC.
  • Familiarity with Department of Education policies and protocols.
  • Experience leading youth development and interactive learning programs.
  • Commitment to antiracist pedagogy and culturally diverse settings.
  • Experience supervising personnel and managing teams is preferred.
  • Experience in school-based settings with knowledge of community organizing and student support services.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to achieve programmatic outcomes.
  • Knowledge and passion for global issues, education, human rights, and social activism.
  • Excellent facilitation, consensus-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, creativity, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Strong communication, writing, organizational, and technology skills.
  • Fluency in other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on developing yearly curriculum maps aligned with GK outcomes and program models.
  • Facilitate workshops and activities for weekly school-based lunchtime and after-school programs.
  • Organize field trips, mini-conferences, family nights, and performances.
  • Ensure student and GK team participation in citywide events, including weekends.
  • Link school-day to extended-day learning opportunities and after-school programming.
  • Occasional overnight and long-distance travel required (college trips, management retreats, conferences).
  • Oversee attendance outreach, recruitment, retention, data review, and conferences to meet requirements.
  • Maintain program and student records securely; follow fiscal procedures for supplies and expenses.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with school staff, families, and community partners.
  • Provide staff supervision and conduct weekly check-ins and performance reviews.
