Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle, WA seeks a passionate Windows Engineer to design, deploy, and manage massive Windows Server environments for AWS global infrastructure.

You will implement enterprise tooling (ECM or AWS Systems Manager), automate tasks with scripting (PowerShell), and troubleshoot hardware issues to maintain high availability. The role requires deep networking knowledge and experience supporting a large-scale Windows fleet, with global deployment and an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience working with Linux.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS.
• 5+ years of building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments.
• 5+ years of experience deploying, managing, and supporting large-scale Windows Server environments (500+ servers).

Responsibilities

• Large-Scale Windows Server Environments: Design, build, and support extensive Windows server environments.
• Enterprise Tooling: Manage ECM or AWS Systems Manager for a large Windows fleet.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation and scripting practices; PowerShell proficiency is essential.
• Innovation and Problem Solving: Solve complex problems and implement scalable solutions.
• Adaptability: Manage changing priorities and multiple tasks efficiently.
• Hardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware issues and system building.
• Networking and Windows Administration: Strong networking knowledge and Windows administration expertise.
• Global Deployment: Create scripts and automation tasks for a global server fleet.
• On call: Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for global customers.
