Job summary

Anthropic, a San Francisco–based AI safety company, seeks a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to run international warehousing and logistics operations. You will manage inbound receiving, storage, inventory control, kitting, and outbound shipments to data center sites, partnering with third-party providers and internal teams.

The role requires hands-on operational ability, strong process discipline, and sharp communication with engineers and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations across international locations through management of third party logistics providers, including receiving, inspection, put-away, storage, cycle counting, kitting, and outbound fulfillment to data center sites
  • Own inventory accuracy and asset tracking for all infrastructure hardware, compute, MEP, spares, and consumables, maintaining clear chain of custody from dock to rack
  • Plan and execute domestic freight and coordinate international shipments, selecting carriers, managing schedules, and resolving exceptions such as delays, damage, and shortages
  • Manage third-party logistics providers, carriers, and freight forwarders, including onboarding, service-level tracking, performance reviews, and cost management
  • Coordinate closely with data center operations, hardware engineering, procurement, and security teams to align delivery schedules with deployment timelines and site readiness
  • Operate reverse logistics for returns, RMAs, and end-of-life equipment, including secure handling and disposition of storage devices in partnership with security and compliance
  • Build and document standard operating procedures, checklists, and controls for warehouse and shipping activities, and train warehouse staff and vendors on them
  • Maintain compliance with safety, hazardous materials, export control, and customs requirements for the equipment we handle
  • Define and report on operational metrics such as receiving cycle time, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, and freight cost, and use them to drive continuous improvement
  • Support capacity planning for warehouse space, staffing, and equipment as our hardware volumes and site count grow
  • Experience managing warehouse or logistics operations for physical goods, including receiving, inventory control, and outbound shipping
  • Hands-on experience with a warehouse management or inventory management system, and comfort working in spreadsheets to analyze inventory and shipment data
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers or carriers, including negotiating service levels and holding vendors accountable to them
  • Working knowledge of domestic freight (LTL, FTL, and parcel) and the documentation that goes with it
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements for shipping and storing IT or electronic equipment, such as hazardous materials rules for lithium batteries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch and keep operations running reliably as volume and complexity increase
  • Ability to travel to warehouse and data center sites in the US as needed
