Job summary

The Athletic seeks a Senior Manager, Video Production Operations to lead ideation, creation, and execution of premium video series and specials. You will oversee a scaled, global operation delivering 40+ weekly episodes and 60+ social clips across North America and Europe, driving growth, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will manage a team of producers, work across stakeholders and talent, and contribute to long-term strategy, platform innovation, and monetization partnerships

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in video or social content creation.
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Basic field filming skills to effectively guide the team.

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and elevate a high-performing global team of video producers and freelance editors.
• Oversee full lifecycle production across formats: budgeting, onboarding, post-production, distribution.
• Develop growth strategies for external platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) and internal apps.
• Define and enforce the distinct visual voice across shows to ensure brand consistency.
• Partner with commercial and revenue teams to align formats with sponsorships while maintaining editorial integrity.
• Drive KPI-driven decisions and stay ahead of platform trends.
