Job summary

Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary, seeks an experienced UAS Operator to operate and maintain unmanned aircraft systems across platforms, coordinate missions for customers, and deliver high-touch support. The role requires deploying to remote environments, performing preflight planning, and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

You will collaborate with teams, analyze flight data, and maintain equipment while supporting customers worldwide with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience operating and/or maintaining UAS platforms.
• Direct customer support in a field environment.
• Strong customer service background and excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to deploy to remote/austere environments for 4–6 month assignments and travel up to 70% per year.
• Must pass customer-mandated medical, dental, and psychological pre-deployment screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate unmanned aircraft systems in compliance with checklists and safety protocols.
• Conduct preflight planning including mission briefings, weather forecasts, NOTAMs and airspace requirements.
• Evaluate customer mission requirements and determine operational needs.
• Collect and analyze data from flights; complete post-mission reports/logs.
• Collaborate with team members and customers to plan and execute UAS missions.
• Perform UAS and ground support equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to resolve issues beyond field maintenance.
• Conduct inventory of UAS spares/components and report cycle counts.
