Job summary

Volvo Group in India is seeking a logistics and transport operations professional for a 2-year contractual role in Pithampur. You will manage import/export clearance, coordinate with LSPs and internal teams, and ensure timely production material movement across Volvo plants and dealers globally.

You will collaborate with Plant Logistics, Purchasing, AS, and Customs teams to ensure compliant, on-time shipments, capacity forecasting, and KPI tracking, while leveraging ERP systems and digital tools

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in Transport Operations/ Logistics/ Stakeholder communication.
• Degree in Engineering/Bachelor of Commerce/Masters in Logistics and SCM or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in international trade including customs clearance activities.
• Knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures in India.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with customs authorities and stakeholders.
• Problem solving abilities with attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Digitalization skills including O365, Power BI & use of AI.
• Team-player with high analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute shipments in close coordination with LSPs and internal stakeholders.
• Collect forecasts from stakeholders and share with TQA/LSPs to secure capacity.
• Collaborate with Plants & Sales teams on lead time vs. cost vs transport modes analysis.
• Maintain and review KPIs with LSPs and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure correct usage of transport systems such as ATLAS/ ShipIT/ A4D / XTR by LSPs and stakeholders.
• Escalate LSP performance issues to CRISM.
• Prepare SOP for customs broker and monitor performance as per SOP.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement towards duty savings and avoid extra cost on duties.
• Apply knowledge of CKD kits import/exports, ADD, BIS QCO orders and related policies.
