Job summary

BRP is seeking a skilled Import & Export Compliance professional to lead U.S. import/export operations and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on ensuring adherence to U.S.

Customs regulations, HTS classifications, Section 232/301 tariffs, and sanctions compliance while collaborating with brokers and internal teams. You will manage daily activities, support audits, and drive process improvements across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in U.S. import/export operations and trade compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, Section 232 tariffs, Section 301 tariffs, HTS classification, and U.S. sanctions.
  • Experience managing customs brokers and external service providers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Review and validate commercial documents, customs entries, broker filings, and shipping documentation.
  • Support customs audits, post-entry reviews, and corrective actions as required.

  • Provide trade compliance guidance to internal stakeholders across multiple business functions.

You’ll Have The Opportunity To
Import & Export Compliance
  • Manage and support daily U.S. import and export compliance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and export control requirements.
  • Review and validate commercial documents, customs entries, broker filings, and shipping documentation.
  • Support customs audits, post-entry reviews, and corrective actions as required.
  • Monitor customs compliance metrics and identify process improvements.
Trade Programs & Special Tariffs
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for:
    • Section 232 tariffs
    • Section 301 tariffs
    • U.S. duty mitigation and special trade programs
    • Preferential trade agreements reviews, including USMCA
  • Evaluate tariff impacts and develop compliance recommendations for the business.
  • Support duty savings opportunities and trade optimization initiatives.
Sanctions & Restricted Party Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. sanctions and trade restrictions.
  • Review transactions involving embargoed or sanctioned countries, entities, and individuals.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on sanctions-related matters.
Operational Support
  • Work closely with customs brokers
  • Resolve customs clearance issues impacting shipments.
  • Support product classification, valuation, and origin determinations.
  • Provide trade compliance guidance to internal stakeholders across multiple business functions.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Participate in compliance projects and business transformation initiatives.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Customs, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in U.S. import/export operations and trade compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • U.S. Customs regulations
    • Section 232 tariffs
    • Section 301 tariffs
    • HTS classification
    • U.S. sanctions compliance
  • Experience managing customs brokers and external service providers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Location and in office expectations:
    • .Required to work onsite in the ‘’X’’ office 50% of the time, or the equivalent of 5 days per 2 weeks.
Preferred
  • Experience in the automotive or auto parts industry.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP GTS.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation
  • Experience supporting audits, customs inquiries, and regulatory reviews.
  • Knowledge:
    • global trade compliance processes beyond the U.S.
    • Country of origin rules
    • USMCA requirements
