Job summary

Volvo Car Customs Operations in the Americas region seeks a Global Trade Expert to drive compliant import/export activities and support the global customs strategy across the US/CA. The role requires coordinating with brokers and internal teams to ensure timely filings and implement process improvements.

The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage risk-based self-assessments, and apply expert knowledge of tariff classifications, origin rules, and trade programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customs rules and regulations (US/Canada).
• Experience filing customs entries and FTZ processes.
• Ability to lead projects and drive improvements across teams.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive the Customs Operations team to create efficient day-to-day processes.
• Handle Import/Export Operations and FTZ activities with accuracy.
• Coordinate with external brokers and internal teams for compliant filings.
• Develop and maintain work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Prepare KPIs to measure operational effectiveness.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
