Job summary

Our client, a leading international law firm in Washington, DC, seeks an Associate Attorney to join its International Trade Practice Group. The role focuses on advising clients on complex trade remedies, export controls, sanctions, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a JD from a top-tier law school, DC bar admission, and 2–4 years of relevant experience, with strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• Top-tier law school JD and excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC, in good standing
• 2-4 years of substantive international trade experience
• Experience counseling clients on U.S. international trade regulatory issues
• Experience with trade remedy matters, including antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) proceedings
• Experience litigating before U.S. trade agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade
• Experience advising on economic sanctions administered by OFAC
• Experience with EAR and BIS export control matters
• Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Large law firm experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on international trade and regulatory compliance matters
• Counsel on U.S. trade remedy laws including AD/CVD proceedings
• Represent clients before government agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade
• Provide strategic advice on U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, and cross-border requirements
• Conduct regulatory analyses and assist in developing compliance programs
• Monitor developments in trade policy, sanctions, and export control regimes
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas on complex matters
