Job summary

Bunzl Distribution NA is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to proactively support import/export operations and maintain global compliance programs. The role focuses on managing documentation, HTS classification, and cross-functional collaboration across the company.

Responsibilities include coordinating with freight forwarders, maintaining classification databases, and supporting trade initiative projects with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years trade compliance or international business experience.
• Experience in HTS classification, customs valuation, and country of origin determination.
• Familiarity with international logistics and shipping preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review import and export documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Interface with freight forwarders, customs brokers and other trade compliance-related third-party service providers.
• Maintain the HTS classification program and classification database.
• Manage record keeping processes and archiving of entry records.
• Free trade agreement program management, including vendor certificate solicitations.
• Oversee the entry auditing program, including review of valuation, classification, and country of origin.
• Provide resolution on PGA requests, including research and review of regulations.
• Coordinate routing instructions to freight forwarders, brokers and foreign entities as needed.
• Manage the restricted party screening program and resolution of potential match issues.
• Navigate research in customs regulations globally to resolve issues.
• Provide trade compliance knowledge and support to other functional areas, including education and training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to process international shipments per standard compliance procedures.
