Job summary

Fluence, a global leader in energy storage and optimization software, is seeking a Sr. Global Trade Compliance Manager. You will lead the company’s international trade compliance strategy, drive efficiency, and manage a skilled team across regions.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or a related field, and 8+ years of progressive experience in customs and trade compliance, including people or project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead global import and export compliance strategy across regions.
• Provide guidance on HTS/ECCN classification, duty rates, and documentation for imports/exports (licenses, certificates).
• Identify initiatives to improve duty competitiveness, reduce风险, and lower costs through trade programs.
• Monitor regulatory environment and brief senior leaders with recommendations.
• Design and maintain ICP governing import/export of Fluence products and drive process improvements.
• Serve as SME on tariff classification, valuation, import requirements, and FTA rules of origin.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs across the business.
• Partner with brokers, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, Legal, and suppliers for end-to-end compliance and broker performance.
• Establish scorecards and lead corrective actions, including disclosures and regulatory responses.
• Ensure record-keeping, audits, export declarations, and reporting; respond to authorities.
• Collaborate with Product Development to determine export jurisdiction and document control reasons.
• Screen against sanctions and support due diligence (UFLPA).
• Build and mentor a trade compliance team and roadmap for the function.
