Job summary

Protolabs is seeking a Global Trade Compliance & Import/Export Specialist to lead the organization’s cross-border trade program. You will ensure compliance with import/export, sanctions, and customs requirements while supporting efficient logistics and rapid product delivery.

The role collaborates with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Logistics to mitigate regulatory risk and drive cost-effective international trade practices. Hybrid onsite Tue–Thu in Maple Plain, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and 8+ years in international trade compliance.
• Experience with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert for import/export compliance and international trade requirements.
• Lead and maintain the global trade compliance program and regulatory adherence.
• Interpret regulatory requirements and advise leaders on risks, obligations, and impacts.
• Determine tariff classifications and country-of-origin determinations, and prepare related docs.
• Review and approve import/export documents including invoices, origin certificates, and declarations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and adjust processes and policies accordingly.
• Develop and maintain trade compliance policies, controls, and record-retention practices.
• Identify and mitigate risks across customers, suppliers, products, and routes.
• Lead investigations and corrective actions for customs issues and sanctions concerns.
