Job summary

Ingram Micro seeks a seasoned Director, Global Trade Counsel and Compliance to lead the company’s global trade compliance program. You will advise executive leadership on export controls, sanctions, and cross-border activities, shaping policy, risk assessment, and governance across the organization.

You will collaborate with Legal, Product Management, Supply Chain, Tax, Finance, IT, and Commercial teams to manage regulatory risks, investigations, and remediation efforts while promoting a culture

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.
• Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience focused on international trade law, trade compliance, export controls, sanctions, or related regulatory matters.
• Demonstrated experience counseling business leaders on complex cross-border transactions and commercial activities.
• Significant experience advising multinational organizations on trade compliance risks and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with operational trade compliance organizations.
• Experience designing, implementing, assessing, or overseeing corporate compliance programs.
• Experience managing regulatory inquiries, voluntary disclosures, enforcement matters, or government interactions.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational solutions.
• Proven leadership in matrixed environments with cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal advisor for global trade matters on export controls, sanctions, and related regulations.
• Counsel on commercial transactions, supply chain activities, and cross-border initiatives.
• Advise leaders on trade compliance risks from customers, suppliers, products, and market access.
• Monitor US regulatory developments and provide risk-based guidance.
• Lead engagement with government agencies and responses to inquiries and audits.
• Manage relationships with external trade counsel and regulatory advisors.
• Lead design and governance of the global trade compliance program.
• Oversee risk assessments, policy oversight, monitoring, and investigations.
• Promote a culture of integrity and compliance across the organization.
