Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Counsel, Global Trade Compliance to serve as a trusted legal advisor for sanctions and export control compliance in AI services and datacenter projects. The role involves designing scalable compliance processes, advising on contracts, and coordinating with U.S. government agencies.

The successful candidate will have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and 5+ years of trade compliance experience, with a preference for in-house or top-tier firm backgrounds.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 5+ years of trade compliance experience (sanctions and export controls).
• In-house counsel or top-tier law firm experience preferred.
• Experience advising on AI, semiconductors, and dual-use technologies under export controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on OFAC sanctions and BIS export controls.
• Manage compliance documentation, policies, trainings, and metrics.
• Draft and negotiate contracts with sanctions/export control considerations.
• Coordinate with U.S. government agencies on export/sanctions matters.
• Investigate potential non-compliance and oversee corrective actions.
• Collaborate with business teams to assess legal risk and implement scalable processes.
