Job summary

SpaceX, based in Washington, DC, seeks a Global Trade Compliance Counsel to lead export control compliance across rocket, satellite, and AI programs. The attorney will advise on ITAR/EAR requirements and oversee policy development and internal investigations.

The role partners with engineering and regulators, drafts advisory opinions, and drives continuous improvement of SpaceX’s global trade compliance programs, reporting to the Legal team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 3+ years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm advising on U.S. federal regulatory matters, including export controls, sanctions, national-security or trade matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise on ITAR and EAR export controls and sanctions requirements for SpaceX programs.
• Draft, update, and implement export compliance policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering on jurisdiction and classification determinations for hardware, software, and technology.
