Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Counsel to manage the company’s worldwide trade controls program. This role focuses on U.S.

and international export controls, sanctions, licensing, and technology transfers, partnering with business leaders and government agencies to integrate compliance into operations. The role requires deep knowledge of ITAR/EAR, strong legal analysis, and experience with audits, due diligence, and regulatory engagement across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar in at least one U.S. state.
• 8–10 years of legal practice in global trade compliance.
• Extensive knowledge of ITAR, EAR, sanctions, and export controls.
• Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) export control requirements, DCS/FMS is a plus.
• Ability to obtain required security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Oversee export licensing and government authorizations, including ITAR classifications and licensing submissions.
• Develop and maintain export compliance policies and procedures.
• Provide trade compliance clearances for projects and transactions and advise on cross-border implications.
• Design and deliver trade compliance training and awareness programs.
• Coordinate audits, investigations, and due diligence to ensure program effectiveness.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and external regulators to support compliance objectives.
