Job summary

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is seeking a Trade Compliance professional to manage import/export activities and ensure regulatory compliance. The role supports customs clearance, export controls, and local content reporting, with emphasis on accuracy and process improvement.

You will work with cross-functional teams, learn Honda’s compliance systems, and contribute to ongoing government and industry programs while supporting global supply chain security initiatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in International Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred, but other education/experience considered.
• 0–3 years’ import/export and trade compliance experience within the industry or with a customs broker or freight forwarder.
• Licensed Customs Broker; Certified Customs Specialist preferred.
• Analytical, compliance mindset, detail oriented, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of CBP import regulations (19 CFR), and related programs (Reconciliation, Valuation, HTS, Certificate of Origin, and audits).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support department operations related to import/export functions and trade programs.
• Manage customs clearance of imported merchandise with required data elements.
• Support export compliance tasks such as denied party screening and onboarding foreign nationals.
• Gather and analyze data and interact with suppliers for cost data and local content calculations.
• Develop and maintain written instructions, training materials, and records for audits.
