Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) seeks a Trade Compliance Specialist to lead its import/export processes, focusing on classification, valuation, country of origin, and broker/third-party management. This role supports global operations and ensures compliance with U.S.

and international trade regulations. You will collaborate with Procurement, Transportation and Accounting to maintain compliant procedures, develop manuals, and drive KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of international trade compliance experience
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (import)
• Knowledge of U.S. export regulations
• Classifying merchandise using HTS/Schedule B
• Calculating customs value for import/export
• Country of origin determinations
• Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements
• CCS certification or CCS background
• Independent, self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Strong communication and integrity

Responsibilities

• Complete & submit customs documents for sea & air shipments
• Determine HTS, ECCN, and Country of Origin for parts/products
• Submit Importer Security Filings (ISF) to CBP via brokers
• Interface with brokers, CBP, and PGAs
• Coordinate with Procurement on inbound international shipments
• Maintain regulatory and internal recordkeeping
• Review USMCA Certificates of Origin and communicate findings
• Qualify goods for Free Trade Agreements
• Process duties and taxes on imports in the U.S. and Canada
• Develop and maintain compliance manuals, procedures & SOPs
• Prepare monthly KPI metric reporting
• Create & review SOPs with TMHNA customs brokers
• Provide support to internal customers on import/export requirements
• Other duties as assigned
