Job summary

Music Theatre International in New York seeks a Professional Licensing Associate to handle amateur and select professional licensing in international territories from MTI’s New York office. The role collaborates with the Vice President, Professional Licensing and MTI Europe and Australasia offices, supporting international touring and departmental reporting.

Responsibilities include negotiating royalties, tracking licensing data, resolving license violations, coordinating international tours

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent foreign language skills (Chinese, Korean and/or Japanese preferred).
• Reliable follow-through and task management abilities.
• Thorough understanding of musical theatre licensing and the licensing business.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Customer service-focused with a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn about new markets and aspects of the industry.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate royalties and rental agreements with amateur and select professional accounts.
• Enter and track royalty data for licensed theatres.
• Resolve license violations in coordination with the Legal department.
• Coordinate international touring activity across MTI offices in New York, London and Melbourne.
• Maintain licenses for international tours upon request.
• Assist in maintaining the translation database and annual reports.
• Support marketing initiatives and new title rollouts for MTI catalogue.
• Participate in department projects and licensing evaluations.
• Represent MTI at conferences and events as needed.
• License symphonic concerts upon request and perform other administrative tasks.
