Job summary

AMPP in Houston seeks a technical engagement leader to drive engagement across its technical programs and serve as an internal consultant for standards, innovation, and communities. You will build and maintain alliances with industry, government, and academia and represent AMPP at conferences to grow its influence.

The role demands a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years in a technical leadership arena, and travel of about 20–30%. Experience with standards organizations and global markets is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and experience with membership, technical, research, or standards organization preferred.
• At least 5 years' experience in product development, business development, or management in a technical area.
• Experience in one or more of the following markets is preferable: energy, civil/government/defense, global markets, or other emerging industries.
• Experience in one or more of the following technical topics is preferable: coatings, corrosion, metallurgy, data analytics/AI, sensing/monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to increase AMPP's presence, brand awareness, and influence among industry, regulators/government, and academia.
• Establish and maintain strategic alliances and third-party partnerships with research organizations and standards bodies to enhance AMPP's position.
• Develop research proposals, workshops, draft standards, whitepapers, and other technical content.
• Serve as a technical liaison to standards committees and technical communities in assigned areas.
• Build relationships with industry, government, and research stakeholders to ensure participation in standards development and AMPP communities.
