Job summary

Universal Leaf Tobacco Company, a global leader in premium leaf tobacco, seeks a Vice President, Tax to lead the worldwide tax function, strategy, compliance, and reporting across a multinational organization.

You will advise executive leadership on complex domestic and international tax matters, oversee ASC 740 accounting and SEC reporting, and manage external advisors while building a high-performing tax team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA, Master of Taxation, JD or equivalent advanced tax credential preferred.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible tax leadership experience in a multinational/public company.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Universal's global tax strategy and governance.
• Oversee US federal and international tax compliance and ASC 740 accounting.
• Manage tax audits, controversy, and transfer pricing matters.
• Collaborate with legal, treasury and finance on strategic initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global tax team.
• Ensure SOX controls and tax technology enable efficient processes.
