Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Vice President of Global Tax to lead our tax strategy, compliance and accounting for income taxes. This role reports to the Corporate VP of Finance Transformation, Tax & Treasury and interacts with advisors, auditors, and the Audit Committee.

You will drive tax planning, manage international tax structures, and guide a high-performing team across global operations from Santa Clara.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA/JD/Master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of tax leadership experience in a US global manufacturing company with multi-country operations.
• Strong knowledge of global tax structures, IP, transfer pricing and related US considerations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient processing of internal and external tax reporting and minimize tax obligations.
• Re-evaluate global tax structure amid changes in the international environment.
• Deliver strategic tax planning to lower global tax rates and drive operational initiatives.
• Negotiate audit settlements with taxing authorities and communicate with the Board/Committees.
• Stay connected to information sources to accurately account for new/modified tax laws.
