Job summary

Baxter International seeks a Senior Manager, Global Tax Accounting in Deerfield, IL for a key leadership role. You will oversee projections and quarterly/year-end tax provisions under US GAAP (ASC 740), manage uncertain tax positions, and drive process improvements across the tax function.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, and Legal, shape tax policy, and interact with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 6–8+ years in tax with 3–4 years in tax accounting roles, supervising teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage projections and quarterly/year-end tax provisions under US GAAP (ASC 740).
• Support development and maintenance of tax accounting policies and procedures.
• Lead team engagement and development aligned with tax department strategy.
• Collaborate with Global Tax in compliance, planning, and controversy matters.
• Analyze tax data using automation and analytics to improve reporting.
• Maintain relationships with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external advisors.
• Provide guidance on tax accounting matters including SOX controls and documentation.
• Identify training opportunities to keep the team technically current.
• Monitor changes in US GAAP, SEC reporting, and tax laws and assess impact.
