Job summary

Samtec, Inc. in New Albany, Indiana, is seeking a Global Sustaining Controls and Vision Engineering Manager to lead and develop the worldwide teams responsible for electrical, pneumatic, machine vision, and software systems in manufacturing equipment.

You will drive safety, quality, scalability, and compliance while guiding project prioritization, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration across Samtec’s manufacturing platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant engineering degree.
• 7–10 years related engineering experience in manufacturing.
• 3–5 years of management experience.
• Proficient in control relays, pneumatic solenoids, pneumatic controls, motion controllers, servomotors.
• Motion Controller and PLC programming experience (Trio Motion Controller preferred).
• Operator Interface programming experience (Red Lion preferred).
• Knowledge of the SDLC, practices and patterns.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; solid 3D design skills (SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

• Lead global sustaining controls and vision engineering teams to design, deploy, and troubleshoot systems.
• Ensure solutions meet safety, quality, scalability, and compliance standards.
• Prioritize projects, manage resources, communicate progress, and ensure on-time completion.
• Develop team KPIs and analytics; integrate machine learning into workflows.
• Collaborate with internal customers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
