Job description

Talascend is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a Global Supply Manager position with a leading automotive manufacturer located in Newark, CA.

OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a Global Supply Manager supporting Low Voltage Electrical Control Unit (ECU) and Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) procurement. Responsibilities include purchasing materials directly from suppliers, creating purchase orders, managing contracts, and tracking supplier performance. The team collaborates with internal teams to manage facility design changes, monitor project timelines, and develop solutions to potential issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Purchasing and material tracking, including PO management for minor tools, expedited tier 2 components, and one-off NREs.
2. Work directly with electronic and mechanical component tier 2 suppliers to ensure material clear-to-build (CTB) for proto builds.
3. Review, analyze, and clarify quotations from suppliers; share and present data to supply chain for negotiations and sourcing decisions.
4. Support supply chain and engineers with creating purchase requisitions in Coupa and SAP for prototypes, materials, and tooling.
5. Manage supplier development and tooling timelines, part availability for prototypes and production start, and develop solutions to delays or issues.
6. Track tester capacity to ensure timely ordering of testers and tools to prevent shortages.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Proficient in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
• Experience in EE components purchasing and PCBA.
• Ability to creatively and effectively mitigate unforeseen problems.
• Understanding of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis.
• Strong teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
