Job summary

Sea Machines is seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Associate to support day-to-day purchasing, inventory management, material planning, shipping, and supplier coordination from our Boston-based office.

You will process purchase orders, obtain supplier quotes, track shipments, and maintain accurate records while collaborating with engineering, production, and finance teams to prevent shortages and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, manufacturing, or related role.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office applications.
• Experience using an ERP, MRP, purchasing, or inventory management system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day purchasing, inventory management, material planning, and supplier coordination activities.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, request supplier quotes, and compare pricing, lead times, and availability.
• Follow up with suppliers on order acknowledgements, delivery dates, backorders, and overdue materials.
• Maintain accurate supplier, part, pricing, inventory, and purchasing records in the company’s systems.
• Track open purchase orders and communicate material shortages, supplier delays, and schedule risks.
• Work closely with Logistics Operations to help track inbound and outbound shipments and communicate shipment status to internal teams.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, finance, and other internal teams to confirm material requirements and resolve purchasing or inventory discrepancies.
• Support inventory replenishment, supplier performance tracking, purchasing reports, cost-control efforts, and supply chain improvement activities.
