Job summary

Forney Industries, Inc is seeking a Supply Chain Director in Fort Collins, CO to lead the four-person Procurement Division and partner with Forney Asia. You will drive global sourcing strategy, vendor vetting, contract negotiations, and supplier relations while advancing Lean initiatives and cost reductions.

You will oversee inventory turns, ensure delivery performance, and coordinate with Logistics for overseas and domestic shipping, with a focus on continuous improvement and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Material Management, Operations Management or equivalent with 10-years’ experience in Supply Chain/Procurement and 6-years supervisory leadership.
• OR, 20-years’ experience in Supply Chain/Procurement with 10-years supervisory leadership.
• Demonstrated experience leading Lean/Continuous Improvement implementations (e.g. Kaizen events, 5S, value stream mapping).
• Minimum 5 years of experience sourcing and managing suppliers internationally.
• Experience with NetSuite Enterprise Resource Planning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage team that creates and manages accurate purchase order creation.
• Lead Lean Implementation efforts by planning Kaizen events, applying 5S and value stream mapping, and building a continuous-improvement culture across Procurement.
• Work with sales and product management to support promotions or new customer opportunities.
• Work with product management and engineering to bring new products to market.
• Global Sourcing: Supplier vetting, contract negotiations, and selection.
• Supplier management: Adherence to contract terms, on-time supplier production, pricing negotiations.
• Inventory turns: Reduce on-hand inventory while maintaining >95% service level.
• Prepare and issue Transfer Orders to ensure product availability at warehouses.
• Issue RFPs/RFQs for new product introductions.
• Drives lean methodology to reduce waste in ordering processes.
• Coordinate with Logistics for overseas and domestic delivery.
