Job summary

Global Point Sourcing Solutions in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Buyer/Planner to ensure material availability for sales and production schedules. You will forecast, manage inventory, and coordinate with suppliers while supporting other business functions.

The role requires 5 years of manufacturing experience, ERP expertise, and strong attention to detail. On-site, 1st shift, M-F, with full-time employment in a dynamic supply chain environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics or related equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years’ experience in buyer/planner/material scheduler role within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Epicor ERP system is preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain quotes for materials and components and summarize for approval
• Place purchase orders with suppliers for production materials and sales according to forecast and schedule
• Monitor open PO status to ensure on-time delivery and resolve issues
• Coordinate with vendors on discrepancies and quality matters
• Develop proactive purchasing plans with sales and inventory control to avoid stock-outs
• Expedite or defer orders based on schedule changes
• Determine optimal inventory levels based on forecast and lead times
• Track and expedite delivery with suppliers
• Coordinate material flows during BOM changes and new supplier introductions
• Manage inter-company material flows between warehouses
• Evaluate supplier costs and solicit bids; maintain cost data
• Process invoices and packing slips; maintain PO files
• Provide back-up support for supply chain functions
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and safety policies
• Build relationships with stakeholders across departments
• Use ERP reporting for accurate inventory planning
• Capably handle safety, scheduling, and quality issues
