Job summary

WEG in Wausau, Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality & Development Engineer to ensure supplier quality and drive improvements. The role focuses on qualification, audits, non-conforming materials disposition, and supplier performance tracking.

You will lead cross-functional efforts with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing to support new product development and continuous improvement, including PPAP reviews and supplier training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality assurance, or related field with supplier development focus.
• Certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma are a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier qualification and audit processes for new and existing suppliers.
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance through defects and metrics.
• Manage disposition of defective items and recovery of cost of quality.
• Collaborate on corrective actions and supplier improvement plans.
• Develop and implement a supplier scorecard to track quality, delivery, and cost.
• Work with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing on quality issues and new product introductions.
