Job summary

Thermal Engineering International is seeking a detail-oriented Subcontract Manager to oversee subcontractor management for outsourced fabrication projects. The role requires frequent travel to subcontractors in Europe, Mexico, Canada and Asia and close collaboration with project teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing outsourcing of heat exchangers, boilers or pressure vessels, plus strong communication skills and MS Word/Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or outsourcing of heat exchangers, boilers or pressure vessels.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div I and/or ASME Section III is an advantage.
• Domestic and international travel will be required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to schedule, manage, prioritize and execute assignments.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor schedules and progress on engineering deliverables, procurement, fabrication, testing, shipping preparation and shipment.
• Manage DDTS-based deliverables schedule.
• Anticipate and mitigate risks affecting subcontractor performance and PO requirements; discuss with stakeholders.
• Coordinate progress visits to subcontractor facilities as necessary.
• Communicate with Project Management regarding late deliveries to pursue back-charges or LDs.
• Coordinate with the Supplier Quality Representative for subcontractor inspection activities.
• Participate in subcontractor evaluations and annual performance reviews.
• Oversee Purchase Order agreements with subcontractors.
