Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead global category management and craft comprehensive sourcing strategies for Direct Raw Materials across Westlake’s facilities.

You will drive cost reductions, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with Legal, HS&E and technical teams to ensure supply continuity, supplier performance, and optimal total delivered cost to support EBITDA goals.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or other technical field; Master's in Business beneficial.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, petroleum refining or petrochemical industries.
• Knowledge of raw material additives, chemistries, and global sourcing footprint.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills; SAP experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead RFx, negotiations, supplier sourcing, contract negotiations and compliance management for defined commodity groups.
• Develops and executes the strategic plan for sourcing, procurement and logistics of assigned Direct Raw Material categories.
• Collaborate with Legal, HS&E and regulatory SMEs to ensure safety and compliance of category purchases and logistics.
• Establish a preferred supply base and manage supplier relationship programs including supplier scorecards/reviews.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop and maintain global sourcing strategies and cost reduction initiatives.
• Analyze market conditions and assess category strategy against Westlake's requirements for volume, quality and cost.
