Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation seeks a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist to develop and execute a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for critical categories.

You will manage supplier relationships, drive cost reductions, and negotiate contracts with cross-functional teams to ensure supply continuity and optimal terms. The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing or petrochemicals, strong communication, and SAP/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or related field; Master’s degree beneficial.
• Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing, refining or petrochemicals.
• Knowledge of raw material additives and global sourcing footprint.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• SAP experience desirable; advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes the strategic plan for sourcing, procurement and logistics of assigned Direct Raw Material categories.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop and maintain global sourcing strategies.
• Lead RFx, negotiations, supplier sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Establish a preferred supply base and use supplier scorecards for continuous improvement.
• Analyze market conditions and implement category cost reduction strategies.
• Collaborate with Legal, HS&E and regulatory SMEs on contracts and compliance.
• Maintain routine cost forecasts to support financial plans.
• Ensure procurement policies, Sox controls and DOA compliance.
