Job summary

Polaris Inc. in Mexico is seeking a Sourcing Intern to support Global Strategic Sourcing initiatives. You will work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve supplier performance, ensure material continuity, and help standardize processes.

The role involves data analysis, project support, and maintaining documentation of best practices. Responsibilities include analyzing supplier scorecards, supporting item balance reviews (MOQ, lead times, planning profiles), and developing recovery

Qualifications

  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support supply chain projects with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Logistics, Sourcing, and Engineering teams to support supplier performance initiatives.
  • Maintain supplier action registers and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage recovery plans and tracking reports for assigned suppliers.
  • Analyze supplier scorecards and performance metrics.
  • Support item balance reviews, including MOQ, lead times, and planning profiles.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining standard work documentation and process improvements.
  • Provide reporting and analytical support for special sourcing projects.

Position Summary

The Sourcing Intern supports Global Strategic Sourcing initiatives by working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve supply base performance, ensure material continuity, and support process standardization. This role contributes to supply chain efficiency through data analysis, project support, supplier performance tracking, and documentation of best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong relationship-building and influence skills.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, International Business, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and supply chain processes.
  • Previous internship or experience in manufacturing, assembly, automotive, or related industries.
  • Experience working with data analysis, metrics, and reporting tools.
