ZEISS Group seeks a Strategic Buyer / Category Manager to lead cross-site category strategies across the USA, Germany, UK, Italy, China and India. You will manage supplier selection, qualification and performance, while driving cost savings and risk mitigation across high-technology components.

The role requires strong negotiation skills, SAP experience, and the ability to collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and project teams. Domestic and international travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Three years of purchasing experience in technical categories.
• Strong understanding of high-technology systems and complex parts.
• Analytical and financial capability to assess suppliers on multi-criteria.
• Proven negotiation skills and knowledge of contracts and law.
• SAP experience preferred; MS Office proficiency required.

Aufgaben

• Develop and implement cross-site category strategies across multiple regions.
• Conduct market analyses and manage supplier selection, qualification and performance.
• Ensure supply continuity by monitoring industry trends and risks.
• Identify new suppliers and propose alternative materials or processes.
• Lead national and international negotiations and resolve supplier issues.
• Apply product cost-driver models to benchmark and save targets.
• Maintain cost data and outlines in SAP; support procurement policies.
• Collaborate with internal partners to implement category strategies and programs.
• Build strong supplier relationships and communicate with ZEISS leaders.
