Job summary

ABEC Inc is seeking a Buyer to drive procurement of specialized mechanical, electrical, and bioprocess equipment for large-scale biopharmaceutical projects. You will review drawings, BOMs, and specs, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate terms to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality components.

You will work with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales teams to support project success, monitor long-lead materials, and resolve issues while ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1–5 years of procurement/supply chain experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
• Experience with biotechnology, industrial equipment, engineering, automation, or heavy manufacturing is valued.

Responsibilities

• Procure custom-engineered mechanical, electrical, structural, and bioprocess components for large-scale manufacturing projects.
• Review engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and documentation for supplier accuracy.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, processes, quality standards, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, warranties, and terms for best value.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to support project success.
• Monitor long-lead materials and provide status updates to project teams.
• Resolve supplier/material issues ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes and supplier partnerships.
• Participate in supplier visits, technical audits, and on-site inspections as needed.
