Job summary

ABEC is seeking a Buyer with a strong technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and bioprocess systems. You will source complex components, review drawings for quotes, and negotiate terms to meet stringent biopharmaceutical standards.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Quality teams, manage vendor relationships, and support continuous improvement across the organization. Domestic travel to supplier sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a technical field or equivalent.
• 1–5 years procurement in technical manufacturing/biotech environments.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, P&IDs.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Infor Syteline a plus) and Excel.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure complex mechanical, electrical components and bioprocess systems.
• Review engineering drawings to ensure quotes meet specs.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, warranties, and returns.
• Manage vendor relationships and monitor on-time delivery and quality.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management across teams.
• Support project status updates and technical training sessions.
• Travel to vendor facilities for audits or inspections.
