Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Significant years of security enterprise architecture experience.
• Advanced security expertise: cloud/hybrid security, IAM, zero trust architectures, and secure SDLC.
• Strong stakeholder management: translate risk vs. reward to executives.
• Extensive ownership: drive complex challenges to closure with minimal guidance.
• Certifications: CISSP‑ISSAP, CCSP, or SABSA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of the Booking Holdings Security Architecture blueprint aligning with 3–5 year business roadmap.
• Own governance lifecycle, identify gaps, and drive remediation without daily oversight.
• Advise Brand CISOs and Global CSO on security investments balancing risk and velocity.
• Provide North Star guidance to security engineers across brands and resolve complex architectural trade‑offs.
• Lead high‑stakes vendor assessments and drive cross‑brand security initiatives.

Role Overview

Booking Holdings is a global online travel services provider with five main brands: Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, KAYAK, and OpenTable. The Global Sr Enterprise Security Architect (Director level) is a high‑impact, strategic leadership role responsible for the long‑term security enterprise architecture vision across all Booking Holdings brands. This senior individual contributor position operates with extreme ownership, driving the end‑to‑end strategy from initial conceptualization to global adoption, and serves as the primary security consultant to brand CISOs and the global Chief Security Officer.

Hybrid work model: Two days in office.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Blueprinting & Ownership: Lead the evolution of the Booking Holdings Security Architecture blueprint, ensuring its long‑term viability and alignment with the 3‑5 year business roadmap.
• Autonomous Governance: Own the governance lifecycle, identify gaps in current brand implementations, and drive remediation without day‑to‑day oversight.
• Executive Influence: Serve as a key advisor to Brand CISOs and the Global Chief Security Officer, persuading senior leadership on security investments that balance risk with commercial velocity.
• Architectural Guidance & Mentorship: Provide “North Star” guidance to security engineers across brands, acting as the final escalation point for complex architectural disputes or trade‑offs.
• Vendor Strategy & Ecosystem Leadership: Lead high‑stakes vendor assessments, ensuring selected solutions provide superior ROI and integration, and drive cross‑brand synergy by identifying opportunities for shared security services or tools.

Technical & Leadership Expertise

• Cloud‑native security architecture with multi‑cloud environments
• Identity & access management for both human and machine identities
• API and application security
• Zero trust architectures
• Understanding of modern attack surfaces (SaaS, xIoT, AI, third‑party)
• Experience building a new security enterprise architecture function (strategy, influencing, M&A, integration deployment)
• Strategic thinking: Translate threat landscape into architecture decisions and business outcomes
• Capability to design scalable, repeatable architecture patterns
• Experience with AI‑driven security operations (preferred)

• Advanced security expertise: mastery of cloud/hybrid security, IAM, zero trust architectures, and secure SDLC
• Stakeholder mastery: communicate risk vs. reward to non‑technical executives and negotiate effectively
• Extreme ownership: track record of advancing complex, ambiguous problems to successful conclusions with minimal guidance
• Certifications: CISSP‑ISSAP, CCSP, or SABSA Chartered Architect preferred

Compensation & Benefits

In addition to a competitive base salary (Connecticut and NYC‑metro range: $218,700‑$267,300) and eligibility for an annual bonus and equity grant, the role offers a comprehensive benefits program that includes health and wellness benefits, tuition reimbursement, fitness reimbursement, discounts, and more.
